1949 TRIUMPH 2000 ROADSTER CONVERTIBLE WITH DICKY SEAT Finished in signal red with stone leather trim piped in red, black mohair hood. This vehicle is both Mot and tax exempt. There have been 3 owners from newThese models were mainly hand built and not in large numbers, we have been informed that only around 2000 of the 2000cc triumph roadsters were made and production ceased in October 1949. This example was built on 17th June 1949. It is in concours condition having had a chassis up restoration using all original fittings which we estimate would cost around £50,000 in today's market. Top speed is 85mph with 0-60 in 16 seconds which was really fast in its day and still performs very well in today's traffic. This fully restored vehicle which was styled by Frank Callaby is arrow straight and the restoration was completed some years ago. The high quality of the restoration is testament to the excellent condition you can see today. Clearly this car has been cared for to the utmost degree and driven with care too. The valuable registration number is sold with the car and is transferrable. Fitted when restored with a later TR engine with twin SU's a 4-speed floor change gearbox, also fitted with the original toolkit, starting handle and tyre pump. The history folder includes: current and previous V5s, previous MoTs, invoices in excess of £30,000 for restoration, old tax discs, correspondence, Triumph Club paperwork as the car belonged to member number 5165, write up, list of owners, spec sheet, triumph roadster original advert, DVLA paperwork, AGM TR meeting paperwork, TR Club mags x 9, previous bill of sale, contacts cards etc, restoration book, show exhibits paperwork, upholstery and trim book, paint example and Agatha Christie Rally 1990 all paperwork including autograph of stars etc. This is very rare and excellent example and is offered for sale at £32995
